We are a locally owned car rental based in Oranjestad. We know every road, every shortcut, and every beach worth finding, and we put that knowledge to work for every guest who drives with us.
We started with a simple idea: make getting around Aruba effortless.
Sunshine Car Rental was founded by a team of Aruba locals who saw one thing repeat itself every tourist season: visitors spending hours at big-brand counters, paying fees they never agreed to, and ending up in cars that were not what they booked.
We built something different. A tight, well-maintained fleet. Straightforward pricing. A team you can actually call. From our base at Bushiri 33-A in Oranjestad, we have been helping guests discover this island on their own terms ever since.
Today we operate 36 vehicles across 15 models, from compact electric hatchbacks to an eleven-seat van, all maintained and cleaned at our own facility before every rental.

The rate you see is the rate you pay. No airport surcharges, no insurance products you never asked for, no fuel charges that appear on your final bill out of nowhere.
Real availability
We will not confirm a booking we cannot fulfill. Our fleet is tracked and if a vehicle is unavailable we tell you before you arrive at the counter, not after.
Clean, ready cars
Every vehicle is inspected, cleaned, and photographed before each rental. You leave with a full tank and a car that is ready to drive from the first moment.

A valid driver's license, a passport or government ID, and a credit card in the driver's name for the security deposit. International visitors generally do not need a separate international permit if their license is in English.
Drivers must be at least 21 years old. A young driver surcharge may apply for drivers under 25. Let us know your age when you book so we can confirm what applies to your rental.
Basic third-party liability coverage is included on every rental. Additional collision damage coverage is available to reduce your out-of-pocket risk. Ask our team to walk you through the options when you book.
Every car leaves with a full tank, so please return it full. For electric vehicles we charge the car to 100% before pickup and show you the nearest charging points on the island.
